                  Ample parking.  Just west of where Zion intersects with Friars on north side.
                  In the corner of a shopping center.  Open air.  So bring a sweater in late fall
                  and winter.  I know they KJ.  He could no try harder to help you.

             "Total dive in a shopping center parking lot.  There's lots of...Camel-ish...memorabilia,
             which makes sense, considering the bar's name.  Service was quick and friendly, and
             prices reasonable.  One tip: beware the ladies room.  You walk in the door and there is
            one stall.  The "door" to the stall is a leopard-print shower curtain.  I walked in on someone
            who neglected to close the curtain....AWKWARD!   The karaoke host was super nice
            and has an amazing set of pipes on him!  The song selection is pretty good, though not
            a lot of recent songs...They have cordless mics ... and the sound system is decent. SOURCE

          Small. Ask at the front desl of the Ramada how to get there.  It's down a corridor and up a
          flight of steps.  Nice outside patio in Summer.  Well-lighted.  Inside seating is limited, maybe 20.
         "Cappy's is a gem!  Come as you are vibe, the drinks are hella cheap and strong like a
          moh foh, the juke box rocks, the smoking patio has chairs and tables to rest your dogs,
          and unless its a Friday or Saturday night there isn't a long wait for pool.  The crowd is,
          putting it mildly, eclectic.  I've seen nights with a mix of fishermen, couples over 40
          on a night out, the geriatric alkie set, rockabilly types, USD law students, cougars on
         the prowl, whoo hoo girls,  and plain vanilla middle of the road folks.".  SOURCE

       A friend of mine got into a fist fight here!   But that seems to be a bar thing anywhere and
       any bad moment.  Here's a review I would echo:   "I found what every San Diegan has
      spent their life looking for; the perfect bar! The Carriage House is the place to go. This Karaoke
      bar is the perfect mix. If you want to get all dressed up, get your hair did, and go out for a night
      on the town, this bar is good for that.  Weekends always have a good mix of cute single
      guys and gals, all looking for a good time. Do you want to wear your fat jeans, stained
      SDSU sweatshirt, and Chargers beanie? Come here during the week. No one there is
      going to judge. Hey, we're all here to have a good time. This is the kind of place where
      you can sit down next to anyone, and have a new friend just like that *snaps fingers*

     "Now the Karaoke. First, let me talk about the great KJs (Karaoke Jockey) at this bar.
      Wednesday through Saturday you gave the lovely Nicole. She keeps the music rolling,
      and she's always fair about getting singers to the mic. Sunday and Mondays feature the
      amazing Kramer. He always keeps the crowd laughing. Yoiu will leave thinking he is the
      coolest guy you've ever met.  If you're nice, you could even convince him to sing "Rainbow
     Connection" in the stlye of Kermit the Frog! This is not to be missed.  The song selection
     is good. Lots of songs in varied genres."

     If memory serves, this is not a memorable place.  Here's a review that fits what some
     pthers have said on line:  "The drinks are cheap and they have Karaoke, but the bar is
     adjacent to military housing and is littered with drunk GI's that cannot handle their liquor. There
     is at least one huge fight almost every night."  Source.  Actually, I know an older woman who
     goes here twice a week and loves it. So, here's an opposing viewpoint: "Stephanie is the
     best bartender on the planet.  She will always remember your name and what you usually
     drink.  It's seriously like cheers; after a while, everyone knows your name and they are
     glad you came.  The drinks here are very cheap like they should be at a dive.  I don't
     usually go on the weekends.  I'm usually there during the week when I had a hard day
     at work and need a stiff drink.  This is a good place to unwind.  Plus, Tuesday is $1 beer
     night and Wednesday is $2 drink night for women."  Source.

     Some very good singers.  Hard core karaoke singers always seem to come back here,
     even though it can be crowded and you may only get to sing twice on a busy evenings. 
     This is good restaurant with a long bar.  Weekends it's crowded.   The crowded dance
     floor adds to the fun and drama.  "I was amazed! The singing was great! the dancing
     was fun! The people seemed to all come all together to just have a great time!  Source.

     Warning: Karaoke hosts and hostesses can be fussy when a place has a reputation for
     "good" singing to maintain. "Our group of eight started up a bar tab while waiting for
     my turn at the microphone.  When it was my turn, I went up and got the microphone.  
     The DJ asked me “This isn’t a slow song, is it?”  I said it was and he said that I couldn’t
     do it and to “give me back the microphone.” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.  
     I picked a song out of the book, we rang up a bar bill of over $100 while we waited,
     and then was told I couldn’t sing the song." Source.

          Can be quite loud even in the back.   KJs change here from time to time.. 
          This place has delicious 2:1 hamburgers on Tuesday and the waitresses are extra nice.
          Very, very few singers.   KJ does not let singer use their own CDs.  But current
          KJ is has huge number of songs and versions in his computer.  He will show you
          what he has.   Hennessey's is very clean and spatious. Lots of young people
          and tourists from far away places visiting the beach.  Bring your ear plugs just
          in case and you'll like this place.

       Bring your country hat and boots and prepare to line dance on a super-big dance floor.
        Often lots of other singers.  Mostly country music.  But not exclusively.  Expect a
        big appreciative crowd even if they are spread over three floors as you look out from
        the balcony over the dance floor.  This is a good place to talk, too.  I only met friendly
        people here.  Mostly but not exclusively young people.  If you like blue jeans, this
        is your kind of place.  The KJ is busy but remembers everone by name and is always
        helpful.  Sit up on the balcony near the singers.  Put your feet up on the rail and
        watch the good dancers.  Very good chicken, too.
