False breakouts in leading stocks is a serious problem for the
general market because it dismays the aggressive performance fund managers
and breakout traders. A quick head/shoulders pattern adds to the fear.
When a number of such stocks break their H/S necklines, it unleashes
a rash of Sell Stop orders and short sellers become aggressive. We
are definitely seeing more and more of these situations.
