Look at these 15 decliners, each over 52% in just 56 trading days.
Eleven of these are Biotechs. The exceptions are CRR (oil/gas), CYH
(hospitals),
FGP (Oil/gas), LXU (chemicals) STON (cemeteries). The median
decline
for all 296 Biotechs was almost 15% in this period. However, the
Industry Group
did not give SELLS based on breaks in its A/D Line trend and the trend
for
the Percent above 65-day. Most the the biggest decliners among
Biotechs
had given plenty of warning by virtue of S9s and S14s in the weeks before
that.
The Industry Sell accelerated their declines.
You will find head and shoulders patterns and breakdowns at or below
falling
65-dma in many.
But the three technicals most common to them are:
1) Tiger Sell S9s - Insider Selling - negative IP21 readings near the upper
band,
2) then Tiger Sell S14s - Insider Dumping - big increases in volume on down
days,
3) And then Closing Power Uptrend Breaks - Professionals turn decisively
bearish.
Multiple S14s (Dumping) occur in all cases.
These characteristics, in this order, are particularly important to
look for in picking stocks
to short. Of course, a weak general market is important, too.
